Buffalo-bound: Ex-Dolphin Thigpen agrees to three-year deal

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have agreed to a three-year contract with free-agent quarterback Tyler Thigpen.

Thigpen's agent, Joel Turner, confirmed the deal Wednesday, saying that his client is looking forward to playing for Buffalo coach Chan Gailey again.

Gailey was Thigpen's offensive coordinator in Kansas City in 2008. Thigpen started 11 games for the Chiefs that season, completing 54.8 percent of his passes and throwing 18 touchdowns.

Thigpen, 27, has spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

In Buffalo, he is expected to back up 2010 starter Ryan Fitzpatrick.
