Buccaneers sign former Jets kicker Nugent to one-year deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Wednesday that they have signed kicker Mike Nugent to a one-year contract.

Nugent, who spent the past four seasons with the New York Jets, has played in 49 career games. He has connected on 75-of-92 field goal attempts (.815) and 83-of-85 extra point attempts during his career for a total of 308 points.

He originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (47th overall) by the Jets in the 2005 NFL Draft. Nugent's 2008 season ended after suffering an injury in the season opener.
