Bruce Arians is excited about his loaded Arizona Cardinals roster heading into the offseason.
There is one area, however, that he knows must be improved.
After watching the Cardinals pressure Cam Newton on a season-low 20.7 percent of dropbacks, Arians and general manager Steve Keim agreed that finding pass rushers must be a top priority in 2016.
"We obviously need some more pressure people," Arians said, via ESPN.com.
Signed off the street in mid-October, 35-year-old Dwight Freeney led the team with eight sacks. No other player had more than five.
"I don't think we created any pressure," Keim said of Arizona's NFC Championship Game loss. "We have to get more physical up front. Again, that starts with me and I have to do a better job and I will certainly answer the bell and get that started."
Beyond the need for edge rushers, Arians wants to add "another corner and safety with some length and speed."
After watching his third-round pick lead all rookies in touchdowns, Arians also realizes he simply needs more playmakers: "Hopefully we'll find another David Johnson."
