Browns WR/KR Cribbs reports for OTAs after talk with coach Mangini

BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs attended Tuesday's organized team activities after previously threatening to hold out for a new contract.

Average: 25.2

"He's absolutely making a good faith effort to show how important football is to him and his teammates are to him," said Cribbs' agent, J.R. Rickert. "Obviously, his contract is important to him as well."

Rickert didn't negotiate Cribbs' current six-year, $6.7 million contract. The former Pro Bowler is scheduled to make $620,000, $635,000, $650,000 and $790,000 over the next four years.

While previous reports indicated that Cribbs would demand a trade if a new deal isn't reached, Rickert denied ever saying that. He refused to confirm or deny that would be the next step.

"Josh and I have had confidential discussions about what steps we should and shouldn't take," Rickert said. "He's optimistic that this can work out for everybody, and that's the approach we'll take going forward."
