Maiava was credited with one tackle on special teams before he was injured.

The Browns re-signed linebacker Titus Brown off the Denver Broncos' practice squad. Brown was waived Sept. 9 by Cleveland.

Cleveland selected Maiava in the fourth round of the 2009 draft. He made three starts last season and appeared in all 16 games, finishing with 40 tackles, 2½ sacks and one forced fumble.

Maiava missed only one game in four years at USC.
