The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Holliday had 3.5 sacks last season for the Miami Dolphins.

Defensive lineman Tim Crowder was among the players cut Saturday by new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels. Crowder was taken by Denver in the second round of the 2007 draft.

The Broncos also let go tailback Darius Walker, who led the team in rushing during the preseason, and waived/injured cornerback Joshua Bell.

Holliday, 33, is a 12-year defensive lineman who could clog up the middle for Denver in its switch to a 3-4 defense. He had 55 career sacks with Green Bay, Kansas City and Miami.
