Broncos coach Josh McDaniels declined to reveal any specifics Wednesday about Dawkins' injury.

Dawkins left the practice field Tuesday with a trainer by his side after suffering an apparent hand injury. But when McDaniels was asked again to name the part of the body that Dawkins had injured, the coach replied, "It's somewhere above the ground."

Vernon Fox took the bulk of the first-team practice repetitions in Dawkins' place.

Before joining the Broncos, Dawkins was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection in 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
