Bills sign Walter Mendenhall, brother of Steelers' Rashard

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Free agent running back Walter Mendenhall has signed with the Buffalo Bills.

Mendenhall has yet to play an NFL game after being released by the Indianapolis Colts before the start of last season. He was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Illinois State who initially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier in the year.

Mendenhall had 796 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns during his senior season. He previously played three years at Illinois.

His younger brother, Rashard Mendenhall, is a running back with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
