Bills sign DT Heard away from Raiders, waive LB Williams

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills signed defensive tackle Kellen Heard off the Oakland Raiders' practice squad Saturday.

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 355 pounds, Heard initially signed with the Raiders last spring as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Memphis. He also spent part of his college career at Texas A&M.

To make roster room for Heard, the Bills waived linebacker Thomas Williams.

The moves were announced one day before the Bills (2-10) host the Cleveland Browns (5-7). It's unlikely that Heard will be active for the game.
