Ben Roethlisbergerchallenged teammate Martavis Bryant before the start of the playoffs. After the playmaker responded, Roethlisberger is asking for even more.
"Now let's see what level you step to next," Roethlisberger told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh (via ESPN.com). "I'm already talking to him about the offseason, what he needs to do to take that next step. I told him, 'this offseason, you need to become the best in the world.'"
Bryant missed the first four games of the season while serving a drug suspension, but finished with 50 receptions for 765 yards and six touchdowns.
Bryant was Pittsburgh's most dangerous weapon in the playoffs, finishing with four catches for 183 yards and a spectacular touchdown to go with three carries for 84 yards. He capably filled the No. 1 receiver role when Antonio Brown went down with a concussion in the final minute of Pittsburgh's wild-card win over the Bengals.
Brown -- who had 265 catches for 3,532 yards and 23 touchdowns over the past two seasons -- has a very strong case for the title of "best in the world" right now. It speaks to the incredible potential of the Steelers' offense going forward.
