Benson out, so Bengals likely to use three RBs vs. Raiders

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Cincinnati Bengals leading rusher Cedric Benson will miss Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders because of an injured hip.

Benson left last week's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers because of sprained hip muscles and is inactive for this week's game. Former Pro Bowl selection Larry Johnson is active for the Bengals less than one week after signing with the team, which likely also will use rookie Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard at running back.

Other inactives for Cincinnati are fullback Fui Vakapuna, linebacker Keith Rivers, linemen Evan Mathis and Andre Smith, tight end Chase Coffman and wide receiver Jerome Simpson.

The Raiders placed linebacker Ricky Brown on season-ending injured reserve. Inactives for the Raiders are wide receivers Todd Watkins, Javon Walker and Nick Miller, linebacker Jon Alston and offensive linemen Khalif Barnes, Erik Pears and William Joseph.
