Bengals give WR Chatman, DE Fanene contract extensions

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed receiver Antonio Chatman and defensive end Jonathan Fanene on Tuesday.

Chatman agreed to a two-year deal rather than become an unrestricted free agent. He played in 13 games last season and had 19 catches with one touchdown. He also averaged 5.2 yards on 18 punt returns.

Fanene got a three-year deal. The fourth-year player appeared in 14 games and had six tackles and one sack. He could have been a restricted free agent.
