Bears WR Knox in, Williams out of starting lineup vs. Panthers

Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox started in place of Roy Williams in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Picked as the Bears' starter in the preseason after signing with the team, Williams has been hampered by drops and a groin injury that caused him to miss a game. He had four catches for 55 yards in the opener against the Atlanta Falcons, sat out the following week against the New Orleans Saints and didn't have a reception against the Green Bay Packers.

Knox had nine catches for 189 yards entering Sunday's game.

Running back Marion Barber was active for the Bears after missing the first three games because of a calf injury, but safety Chris Harris (hamstring) and tight end Matt Spaeth (calf) were out.

The Panthers were without cornerback Chris Gamble (concussion). Darius Butler started in his place.
