Bears' Hester active against Lions despite ankle injury

An ankle injury and flu-like symptoms won't keep Chicago Bears wide receiver Devin Hester from playing on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Hester was among Chicago's active players for Sunday's game. Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer first reported Hester would be active and that he will assume his normal kick- and punt-returning duties, but will have less of a role as a wide receiver than usual.

The Bears later confirmed that Hester is active.

Hester missed practice all week and has been listed as questionable for the game. The Pro Bowler sprained his ankle in Chicago's Week 9 win over the Eagles.
