Auburn's Carl Lawson won't play vs. LSU

Auburn will be without the services of its preseason first-team All-SEC defensive lineman, Carl Lawson, for the big SEC showdown with LSU on Saturday.

Lawson did not travel with the team to Baton Rouge, reports. His absence will make the already difficult task of winning at Tiger Stadium even more daunting. Auburn hasn't won in Baton Rouge since 1999.

Lawson has been nursing a hip injury that he suffered in Auburn's season-opening win over Louisville. He hasn't returned to the field since.

Lawson missed the entire 2014 season due to an injury. In 2013, Lawson earned numerous all-freshman team honors after registering four sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss on the season.
