EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Pro Bowl middle linebacker Antonio Pierce missed the New York Giants practice on Wednesday because of a mild concussion.
Receiver Plaxico Burress (ankle) and halfback Derrick Ward (ankle) also missed the workout, while rookie receiver Steve Smith was limited with a hamstring injury.
Pierce was hurt in the Giants' 31-20 loss to Dallas on Sunday, while the other three have been bothered by their injuries for weeks.
"Since Monday he has had a headache," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said of Pierce. "He feels pretty good today."
Chase Blackburn practiced at middle linebacker.
Burress has been bothered by his right ankle all season. He said on Monday it felt worse than at any time this season.
"It is the same old story," Burress said Wednesday. "You guys ask me the same question every day. It is sore, it is hurt. I play hurt, and I go out and perform the best way that I can."
Burress had four catches for 24 yards against Dallas on Sunday. While he leads the team with eight touchdown receptions, he has not caught a TD pass in three games.
