Andrew Luck and Doug Martin selected Week 9 FedEx Air & Ground® NFL Players of the Week

The NFL announced Friday that quarterback Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts and running back Doug Martin of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on November 1-5.

Luck completed 30 of 48 passes for 433 yards and two touchdowns in the Colts' 23-20 win over the Miami Dolphins. Luck's 433 yards set the record for single game passing yardage by a rookie.

Martin gained 251 yards on 25 carries and scored four touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 42-32 victory over the Oakland Raiders.

Luck and Martin were selected from among six finalists in Air and Ground categories. The other FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week finalists were quarterbacks Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears and Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers, and running backs Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings and Isaac Redman of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fans voted for more than their favorite players. The weekly FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards are also a win for local communities. Along with the player awards, FedEx is making a $2,000 donation in each of the winning players' names to the local area offices of Junior Achievement in Indianapolis and Tampa Bay. The funding is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.

During the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVII, FedEx plans to announce the 2012 FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Year in New Orleans, as well as make a $25,000 donation in each winning player's name to Junior Achievement offices in the their city.

Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears

Cutler threw three touchdowns, going 19 of 26 for 229 yards as the Bears beat the Tennessee Titans 51-20.

Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers

Rivers completed 18 of 20 passes for a completion percentage of 90 percent and threw for 220 yards and two scores as the Chargers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-13.

FEDEX GROUND -- RUNNING BACK NOMINEES

Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Martin gained 251 yards on 25 carries and scored four touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 42-32 victory over the Oakland Raiders.

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

Peterson rushed for 182 yards on 17 carries and scored twice in the Vikings' 30-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Isaac Redman, Pittsburgh Steelers

Redman picked up 147 yards on the ground on 26 carries with one score in the Steelers' 24-20 win over the New York Giants.
