That's the word from Cutler's agent, Bus Cook, who did his best to swat down retirement rumors with a statement to ESPN on Tuesday.
With just two days remaining before the start of Thursday's draft in Philadelphia, it was probably as good a time as any to remind teams that a serviceable, one-time Pro Bowler with 32,467 passing yards, a positive TD-to-INT ratio and a career completion percentage above 60 is still out there and interested.
This week could provide some clarity for Cutler. While training camp is another hurdle and quarterbacks are not exempt from the injury bug, seeing whether or not a few teams needy at the position opt for a passer in the draft could provide an indication of Cutler's near future.
Cutler hopes retirement will be a choice, not a last resort.
