49ers re-sign K Andrus to fill-in for injured Nedney

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers have brought back kicker Shane Andrus to fill in again.

The 49ers signed Andrus to a one-year deal Wednesday to replace injured starter Joe Nedney at least for this Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Andrus, one of three kickers to try out Wednesday, was with the Niners in training camp this year before being cut. He played in one game for San Francisco in 2009, when he also spent time with the Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts.

Nedney underwent an MRI exam earlier in the week that revealed a right knee strain and a bone bruise. Coach Mike Singletary said Nedney wouldn't play Sunday.
