James Palmer joined NFL Media in 2015 as a reporter and can be seen on various shows such as NFL Now, NFL Total Access and NFL GameDay Morning.

Previously Palmer was a beat reporter covering the Houston Texans for Comcast Sportsnet Houston. The Philadelphia native received an Emmy Award for his coverage, as well as multiple nominations during his three years in Houston. Prior to Houston, Palmer covered the SEC in Atlanta for Comcast Sports Southeast, filing reporters from across the region as well as hosting nightly studio shows. During his time in Atlanta, Palmer also covered the Falcons, the Masters, UFC title fights, the NCAA Tournament and Olympic training.

Palmer's career started at the Mountain West Sports Network in Denver. There he covered the Air Force Academy, Colorado State and Wyoming athletics as a reporter. Palmer also has an expansive producing background that includes time with Inside the NBA on TNT, as well as producing live sporting events.

A 2005 and 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University, Palmer earned a B.A. in Communications and a B.S. in Education. He currently resides in Denver, CO with his wife Meghan and son Nixon.
