Excellence on the Field
The Dallas Cowboys signed DT Thomas to a two year contract in March 2025. Since that time Thomas has consistently brought high-energy, high effort play to complement his strong football IQ and veteran savvy. Through eight games this season, he has accumulated 18 total tackles, eight solo, including 5.5 stuffs, showcasing his ability to clog running lanes and disrupt opposing offenses. His consistent pressures and ability to use leverage to win one-on-one battles have earned him a solid overall grade of 61.8 from Pro Football Focus, ranking him in the top half among interior defenders. More than just stats, Thomas has emerged as a reliable rotational anchor inside, offering stout run defense and maintaining depth in the defensive front. His blend of technique, sound gap discipline, and intensity on each snap exemplifies the professionalism and consistency the Cowboys sought when signing him. Collectively, these performances reflect Thomas's excellence: a seasoned leader who stabilizes the interior with dependable execution, disruptive presence, and tenacious effort on the field.

September and October featured his national "Tell Me About It" campaign, with appearances on The Today Show and FOX Sports' The Manning Feature to broaden his advocacy. Thomas kicked off September's Suicide Prevention Awareness Month by launching a youth mental health collaboration with Dallas ISD. Dallas's mental health services are one of the largest comprehensive school-based programs in the country and the largest in the State of Texas. As part of the effort, Thomas visited Dallas ISD's Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy and Pinkston High School, empowering youth to embrace mental wellness and leadership, bringing with him Cowboys Legends Kenny Gant and Greg Ellis, respectively, to share their personal journeys with mental health. Gant also joined The Defensive Line and Cowboys mental health clinician Dr. Heather Twedell in supporting the NFL Wellness social platform to share important information regarding mental health with the NFL community. In December, Thomas will present the Dallas Cowboys NFL Foundation Mental Health Grant to Dallas ISD in support of the district's ongoing work in the mental health and suicide prevention space. Through these efforts, spanning education, legislation, philanthropy, media, and youth engagement, Thomas has exemplified what it means to leverage his platform for meaningful change.
