Excellence on the Field
Delpit serves as a cornerstone of the Browns' defense, which currently ranks second in the NFL in total defense, allowing just 276.9 yards per game, fourth in pass defense (182.6 yards per game), and haven't allowed a 300-yard passer in 36 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL. His elite performance in the team's win against the Miami Dolphins in Week Eight, earned him AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, after playing a direct role in two of the Browns four takeaways. He forced a fumble on kickoff in the second quarter and later in the fourth quarter, came free on a blitz and recorded a QB hit, which forced an errant throw that was intercepted by Rayshawn Jenkins. The Browns scored 14 points off the two turnovers. He also made a key interception and returned it for 25 yards in the Week Three victory versus the Green Bay Packers that set up the Browns game tying touchdown. Over the course of the 2025 season to-date, Delpit has logged 36 tackles, one sack, three passes defensed, an interception, and one fumble recovery, adding five tackles and one forced fumble on special teams.
Dedication & Commitment to Community Efforts This Year
In 2025, Delpit exemplified the spirit of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award by turning moments of celebration into opportunities for connection, compassion, and change. His commitment to uplifting others was evident from the start of the year, when he brought the energy of the Super Bowl back home in New Orleans, hosting a football skills camp for high school athletes, followed by a celebrity 7 on 7 tournament. More than just drills, Delpit offered mentorship, encouragement, and a sense of belonging to young players chasing their dreams.
This year also marked a special initiative he took part in for the first time, a Halloween fashion show featuring children battling cancer. Known for his bold style, Delpit stepped onto the runway not to shine alone, but to spotlight these brave kids. Their smiles lit up the room as he and his teammates walked beside them, celebrating their strength and joy. It was an authentic evening for all involved, which reminded everyone of the healing power of presence. Through his community efforts, a focus on youth remains the cornerstone of Delpit's outreach. Whether he's welcoming young athletes to the "Bring the Dawgs Out" at training camp or visiting schools across the region, he brings warmth and a genuine approach to his outreach. He listens, he celebrates, and he shows up again and again.
Recently, the Garden Valley Apartment public housing complex in Cleveland had a massive fire and explosion, which displaced 120 people, including children and families. To help these families with the holidays this year, Delpit will be supporting a Breakfast with Santa. Understanding the critical role education plays in shaping futures, Grant became a Stay In the Game! Ambassador this year. Through this role, he advocates for school attendance and emphasizes the importance of being present, not just in the classroom, but in life. Through Stay In the Game, his voice resonated with nearly 600,000 students and hundreds of school districts throughout Ohio. Growing up, Delpit was inspired by the ambition of his mom and the commitment of his grandmother who is a retired schoolteacher (33 years) from the New Orleans public schools. His voice resonates with students who need to hear that their future matters. A symbolic moment in his football career occurred when he chose to attend his college graduation and risk a moment to shine during a preseason football game. In addition to these efforts, Delpit continues to fund annual holiday events and his back-to-school backpack giveaway, ensuring families have the support they need during pivotal moments of the year. Delpit's impact is not measured in headlines; it's felt in the unseen moments of encouragement, the shared laughter with children, and dedication to his community.
Dedication & Commitment to Community Efforts in Years Past
Over the years, Delpit has grown into his role off the field as he has exemplified dedication to community engagement through both personal and team-driven initiatives. His commitment goes far beyond the spotlight as he consistently shows up for those who need it most. Whether funding annual back-to-school events or bringing joy to hundreds of children and families on Christmas Day at Lakeview Terrace, a public housing community serving low-income residents, his actions reflect a rooted belief in equity, dignity, and shared celebration, which he not only funds, but rallies his teammates to be part of. His generosity is tangible as he annually signs hundreds of items to support local fundraisers and charities, to help drive meaningful financial impact for grassroots organizations. When a mother of two was impacted by unexpected winter storms in Texas, he stepped up to pay for the damage repairs. He's a vocal supporter of social justice, embracing the "It Takes All of Us" helmet decal initiative to amplify awareness and solidarity. He backs his teammates' individual fundraising efforts, showing that community starts with supporting those closest to you. His personal awareness of how he can help others has literally created moments of impact. During the holidays, he has contributed to the team's "Adopt a Family" program, ensuring families in need receive gifts, essentials, and a reminder that they're not alone. He's also extended his compassion to survivors of domestic violence, helping assemble care packages for a local agency that provides critical support and shelter. His involvement in the Browns Foundation Golf Outing highlights his commitment to sustained engagement, not just one-off gestures. Through the Browns Give Back platform, he's helped elevate focus areas like education, youth football, and social justice, using his voice and presence to magnify impact and advocate for systemic change. As the Browns nominee, he doesn't just participate, he leads by example. His actions reflect a holistic approach to community service: one that blends visibility with humility, generosity with consistency, and advocacy with action. His dedication is not defined by a single moment, but by a pattern of care, compassion, and commitment that continues to ripple through Northeast Ohio and beyond. As he looks to the future, he is in the process of establishing his own foundation through Sport for Impact.
Positive Character & a Lifestyle of Giving Back
Delpit is more than a standout athlete; he's a model of integrity and generosity. Through the Browns Give Back platform, Delpit actively engages in community outreach, volunteering his time and resources to uplift underserved neighborhoods in Cleveland. Whether it's supporting youth programs or participating in local charity events, he shows up with heart and humility, proving he's someone the Browns and community can count on. Delpit's commitment to giving back extends into the locker room. As a sixth-year veteran, he's embraced a leadership role, mentoring younger players and helping them adjust to the demands of professional football. Inspired by teammates and his family, Delpit now leads by example, bringing energy, focus, and joy both on and off the field. He's also known for involving his teammates in volunteer initiatives, reinforcing a culture of collective impact. Whether organizing team visits to schools or supporting local causes, Delpit ensures his teammates are part of many special community opportunities. Delpit continues to level up, not just in his play but in his community presence and purpose. He's vocal about accountability, always striving to do more to help his team and his city. In every way, Delpit embodies what it means to be a professional athlete with a heart for service, a leader in the locker room, and a champion for Cleveland.
