Excellence on the Field:

OL Tyler Shatley has demonstrated consistent excellence on the field by displaying the versatility to play both guard and center throughout his career. He has appeared in 118 career games with Jacksonville since entering the league in 2014 and made 35 starts. His 118 games played are the 13th-most in franchise history and the most by any player on the current Jaguars roster. In 2022, he has appeared in seven games and started two and blocked for QB Trevor Lawrence and RB Travis Etienne. In Week 7, Tyler started at guard and helped RB Travis Etienne record the first 100-yard rushing game of his career. He made his first start of the 2022 season in Week 6 against Indianapolis and helped the Jaguars reach 243 rushing yards, tied for the sixth-most in franchise history and the most by any NFL team in Week 6.

Dedication & Commitment to Community Efforts This Year:

Over Halloween, Tyler invited 50 kids from Sponsored by Grace to TIAA Bank Field to trick-or-treat in a safe environment, while also hosting them for a pizza party and giving them the opportunity to participate in fun Halloween festivities, including face painting, donut runs and a haunted house. During the Thanksgiving week, Tyler participated in Turkey Time with the Jaguars, alongside teammates to donate more than 600 turkeys and sides to families in need.

Dedication & Commitment to Community Efforts in Years Past:

Tyler Shatley is the Jaguars' 2022 Walter Payton Man NFL of the Year Award nominee for his unending commitment and dedication to the Jacksonville community since joining the team in 2014. On off days, Tyler often finds time to bring joy to the Wolfson Warriors at Wolfson Children's Hospital and to children and families at Sponsored by Grace. He also supports various nonprofits and their work by teaming up with Feeding Northeast Florida to help combat food insecurity. Tyler has made holiday toy donations to the children at Ronald McDonald House and at Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Positive Character & a Lifestyle of Giving Back:

Sponsored By Grace and SeaMark Ranch are two nonprofits close to Tyler's heart. He has financially backed Sponsored By Grace and SeaMark Ranch to support their impactful missions and works with them year-around. He has represented both on his cleats during the NFL's My Cause My Cleats campaign to raise awareness to their causes over multiple years and will do so again for the 2022 campaign. For this and many more reasons, the Jacksonville Jaguars are proud to select Tyler Shatley as their 2022 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
