Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts this Year

In 2020, Jonathan has continued his work with the Sasha Bruce Youthwork organization in DC by participating in weekly counseling sessions with youth in the community as well as contributing to their Rapid Response funding initiative. Jonathan and his wife Hannah also served on the planning committee for the annual Sasha Bruce gala and are working on a plan to bring holiday cheer to the SBY community for the upcoming holiday season.

Since joining the team, Jonathan has demonstrated a commitment to the Washington Football community. After spending some of his childhood in the DMV, Jonathan has made it a goal of his to make sure that all children across the region have access to the resources they need in order to succeed. Through regular attendance at Washington Football Community events since his Rookie year, Jonathan has developed a passion for giving back on his own and has worked to find community focus areas that mean the most to him.

Demonstrates Consistency in Positive Character and Models a Lifestyle of Giving Back

Most recently, Jonanthan and his wife Hannah have made significant financial and time contributions to Sasha Bruce Youthwork, one of the largest and most experienced providers of services to youth in Washington, DC. Sasha Bruce helps young people find safe homes, achieve and maintain good physical and mental health, create and strengthen supportive and stable families, and explore opportunities in education and careers. The Jonathan and Hannah Allen Innovation Lounge – a multidisciplinary space designed by youth for youth – is located in DC's only homeless youth shelter for minors – the Bruce House. The lounge offers a fun and innovative space to inspire creativity, open-mindedness, and the entrepreneurial spirit among homeless and runaway youth. The Lounge is outfitted with Microsoft Surface Pro Laptops, Wireless Access Points, dedicated Study and Learning Spaces, gaming and entertainment systems and more. The Washington Football team is thankful to nominate Jonathan Allen as their Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
