Kansas City Chiefs

KC_International Fan of the Year

Brad Symox

United Kingdom

I've been a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan since 2011, after watching a documentary about Raiders Hall of Fame running back Marcus Allen. I was fascinated to learn that Allen left the Raiders to join their bitter rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs — a team I had never heard of before. That curiosity quickly turned into passion, and I fell down the deepest rabbit hole researching the history of the franchise, Lamar Hunt, and the traditions that make Chiefs Kingdom so special.

That passion has shaped my life ever since, leading to lifelong friendships and unforgettable experiences across Chiefs Kingdom.

One of my favourite ways to support the team is through creating Chiefs-related hype videos. Many have reached tens of thousands of viewers, and nothing brings me more joy than seeing fellow fans enjoying and sharing the content.

In the early years of my fandom, I joined the UK-based fan group Arrowheads Abroad, where I worked alongside founder Tom Childs to help organise watch-meet events across the country. I also wrote articles and produced video content under the pseudonym The Brit Chief.

Our work began connecting Chiefs fans across the pond, and we eventually partnered with Pete Sweeney at Arrowhead Pride to create and host The Great British Chiefs Show — a podcast that brought British humour and charm to Chiefs Kingdom while building a stronger bond between UK and US fans.

In 2019, I experienced the incredible reach of Chiefs Kingdom when I jokingly nicknamed the wide receiving corps the "Legion of Zoom" in a Twitter post. Overnight, the name spread across the NFL media landscape and became part of Chiefs history. That moment led to an unforgettable journey, including a trip to Super Bowl LIV and even being featured in an Emmy Award winning sports documentary.

My dedication to the Chiefs truly knows no boundaries. I've travelled thousands of miles on multiple occasions to experience Arrowhead Stadium, and I've followed the team internationally — from Kansas City to Frankfurt and beyond. At home in the UK, I watch every game live, even those kicking off at 1:30am, because I never want to miss a single moment.

It is the greatest honour to be nominated as International Fan of the Year. Chiefs Kingdom has given me friendships that will last a lifetime, whether it's at a tailgate outside Arrowhead, sharing BBQ in Kansas City, eating bratwurst in Frankfurt, or raising a pint in a British pub.

No matter where I am in the world, I can always count on the bond of Chiefs Kingdom ... and you can always count on mine.
