Darryl Russell
Canada
Darryl has been a passionate Buffalo Bills fan since 1990. He became a Bills fan because of his brother - his passion for the team was contagious! When he passed away from cancer in 2015, that passion didn't fade — it grew stronger. Today, Darryl carries that love with him every single game.
Darryl has been a season ticket holder since 2012. When he attends games, he always wears his Buffalo Bills necklace with a picture of his brother and the autograph of his favorite player of all time, Thurman Thomas.
Outside of football, Darryl has dedicated the past 30 years to working with children and young adults. He is proud to work at W. Ross Macdonald School for the Blind, an incredible school for students who are blind or visually impaired. There's nothing better than walking down the hallway and hearing a student look up and say, "Go Bills!" It reminds him that passion is meant to be shared.
For Darryl, being recognized as the International Fan of the Year is an honor beyond words. When he attends the Draft in Pittsburgh, he knows his brother will be looking down, sharing that moment with him.
