David Roesler
Germany
For David Rösler, being a fan of the San Francisco 49ers is more than a passion — it's a mission to unite The Faithful across Germany and beyond. From his hometown of Wolfenbüttel to Santa Clara, David has dedicated himself to not only supporting the team, but also building a thriving 49ers community across his homeland.
David's journey with the 49ers began in 2009, inspired by a love of the Bay Area sparked by the TV show Full House, an appreciation for the region's beauty, and a deep respect for the franchise's storied history. What started as admiration from afar quickly turned into lifelong loyalty. As one of the driving forces behind Niner Empire Germany — the largest 49ers fan chapter in the region — he has helped transform a network of fans into a fully registered association under German law as of January 1, 2025. In just one year as an official organization, the group has grown to more than 1,000 members, with a social media reach of over 10,000 followers — approximately 8,000 of them based in Germany.
David is also a leading voice for the 49ers throughout Germany and across Europe. As co-host and producer of the Outside Zone Talk podcast — the most-listened-to NFL team podcast in Germany — he provides analysis, insight, and a passionate perspective on all things 49ers. His expertise and credibility have led to collaborations with major newspapers, sports outlets, and even RTL, the network which airs NFL games in Germany. Through media, social platforms, and live events, David ensures the 49ers remain part of the national sports conversation.
On game days, his leadership is felt across the country. This season alone, Niner Empire Germany has hosted at least 10 watch parties throughout the country, bringing together fans from every federal state. Often held in Frankfurt, the watch parties draw more than 300 attendees, transforming game day into a sea of red and gold thousands of miles from Levi's® Stadium. Beyond the season, local chapters organize barbecues, amusement park outings, and group visits to German football games, creating year-round connection and camaraderie.
Perhaps most remarkably, over the past three years, David has organized group trips for more than 300 German 49ers fans to attend home and away games in the United States. His most recent trip in November 2025 brought a group of almost 100 German fans to both New York and Santa Clara, turning dreams into shared memories and strengthening the global 49ers family.
Through early morning kickoffs, transatlantic travel, media leadership, and tireless community building, David has shown that The Faithful extend far beyond the Bay Area. His dedication embodies what it means to represent the 49ers on an international stage — building bonds, creating lifelong friendships, and ensuring that the legacy of the 49ers continues to grow across Germany.
