Edward Callahan
Ed Callahan has been an Eagles fan for more than seven decades, attending his first game in 1954 and carrying that same excitement ever since. His passion for the team and the city inspired the creation of the EagleMobile tailgate. What started as a small get-together among friends has grown into one of Philadelphia's most recognized game-day traditions. Open to everyone including locals, visiting fans, and even police officers, Ed's tailgate is known for its incredible food, open-door spirit, and contagious energy. From early breakfasts to roast lamb and cheesesteaks, every detail reflects the heart and hospitality that make Eagles fans so special.
Beyond the parking lot, Ed's life has always centered on service. A disabled veteran and retired Naval Officer with 28 years of service, he continues to give back through the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Matthew's Parish, where he serves as a lector and Eucharistic Minister. In 2019, the Eagles invited him to co-captain the Season Ticket Member fundraising team for the Eagles Autism Challenge (EAC). Since then, his team has raised more than $400,000, with Ed personally contributing over $200,000, including more than $70,000 in 2025 alone, placing him among the fundraiser's top donors.
At every home game, Ed donates all the food and drinks for the tailgate, asking only that guests give back to the cause. Through his generosity, leadership, and unwavering enthusiasm, he has turned a simple game-day tradition into something that brings people together and makes a real difference. His selflessness, community spirit, and love for Philadelphia reminds us all that being an Eagles fan is not just about football; it is about heart, service, and pride in giving back, the way Ed Callahan has always done as a devoted Eagles fan.
