Pats Moore earns top rookie honors for Week 17

Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Defensive back Sterling Moore of the New England Patriots is the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for games played on Jan. 1, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Moore had two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, in the Patriots' 49-21 victory over the Buffalo Bills. He also added two passes defensed and a tackle. He is the first undrafted player to win Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors this season.

Moore was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com/rookies. The other finalists were defensive tackle Jurrell Casey of the Tennessee Titans, wide receiver Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons, linebacker Justin Houston of the Kansas City Chiefs and running back Evan Royster of the Washington Redskins
