    Warren Sapp's two sacks helped corral the "Greatest Show on Turf" and get the Buccaneers back to .500. The Bucs would win four of their next six games to make the playoffs for the third straight year, which had only been done once previously in franchise history.

    After years of dominant play, Warren Sapp finally reached pro football's pinnacle with a win in Super Bowl XXXVII, contributing a sack to Tampa Bay's 48-21 thrashing of the Oakland Raiders.

  • September 17, 2000: Warren Sapp records 3 sacks vs. Lions

    Warren Sapp's dominant three-sack performance against the division rival Detroit Lionos helped the Buccaneers get off to a 3-0 start in 2000. The Bucs would reach the playoffs for the second year in a row, but fell to the Eagles 21-3 in the Wild Card round.

  • September 19, 1999: Warren Sapp records 3 sacks vs. Eagles

    Warren Sapp and the Bucs defense smothered the Eagles quarterbacks for nine sacks (three came at the hands of Sapp) and got their first win of the season 19-5. Sapp won Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1999 behind his 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and 27 tackles.

    Warren Sapp and Brett Favre have a well-documented history, and on this night Sapp got the better of Favre, even if Favre got the better of the Buccaneers. Sapp got to Favre twice in a 23-15 loss.

  • August 31, 1997: Warren Sapp records 2.5 sacks vs. 49ers

    Warren Sapp chased down the elusive Steve Young for a sack after embarrassing 49ers' right tackle Tim Hanshaw, and registered 2.5 on the day in a 13-6 Week 1 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Young was unfortunately knocked unconscious on the sack when Hardy Nickerson accidentally hit Young in the head with his knee while in pursuit.

  • October 13, 1996: Warren Sapp records 1.5 sacks vs. Vikings

    Warren Sapp was the defensive force that helped the 0-5 Buccaneers get their first win of the season over their 5-1 division rival Minnesota Vikings. Sapp would get two more sacks in the Week 16 rematch against the Vikings as well.
