When can Manning get on the field? Now that the Colts have solved one of their problems concerning Peyton Manning, signing him to a five-year, $90 million deal, they can turn their attention to dealing with the quarterback's health issues. Manning isn't fully recovered from neck surgery and isn't practicing yet. It also remains to be seen how he will handle contact when he does play. The good news for the Colts, however, is that Manning's new deal gives the team some flexibility to sign players.
How fast can Nevis be up and running?Drake Nevis, the Colts' rookie defensive tackle from LSU, needs to be stout against the run and create inside pressure against the pass. Nevis is about 18 pounds lighter than Daniel Muir -- a starter for 14 games last year at DT for the Colts -- and has to be ready early to help the defensive line. Summer camp and preseason games are critical for him, especially if the club doesn't bring in a solid veteran.
What about the RB situation?Joseph Addai is coming back, but as camp starts Donald Brown has to take the next step in his development, especially in the area of pass blocking. How much will rookie Delone Carter contribute and what about Javarris James. There are issues at running back and the Colts have to sort them out this summer.
Top position battle
Anthony Gonzalez should push Pierre Garcon for the No. 2 wide receiver spot, with Austin Collie and Blair White in the mix as well. Who do you think will emerge as the Colts' No. 2 receiver behind Reggie Wayne?
Does Manning need a full camp to be ready for the season?
