Washington Commanders History

The Washington Commanders were founded as the Boston Braves in 1932 and are one of the original members of the NFL's Eastern Division.

In 1937, they moved to Washington, where they won their first game in D.C. against the New York Giants, and have since become one of the most recognizable professional sports franchises in history. They have 32 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and one recipient of the Walter Payton NFL Man of The Year Award — Darrell Green. The team has won five league championship titles (1937, 1942, 1982, 1987, and 1991), five conference championships, 15 division championships, and have made 25 playoff appearances.

    Beware of obstructive view seats

by Tom on 1/11/23FedExField - Landover

This was given to me as a 50th birthday gift. My oldest daughter spent $500 on tickets in section 222. She was warned of the obstructive view but when shown a preview of the view from her seats it certainly didn’t show a huge support column directly in front of our seats. This was the most misleading and miserable thing experience of my life.

    Good

by Randy on 1/11/23FedExField - Landover

I had a great time and a pretty good experience except for my Dallas Cowboys played like a peewee team lol. My only complaint was the lady and her daughter that was sitting in a row in front of us kept smoking there vape and the stinking smoke kept coming in my face almost the whole game. They really should crack down on that .

When going into the stadium, there needed to be more direction on which way your section is.

    Cowboys vs Commanders game

by Smb on 1/11/23FedExField - Landover

Getting into the stadium was absolutely horrible. There were no cops directing traffic, they were letting the stop lights do the work. So people were running those. Instead of being in charge of the traffic. It took us about an hour to go .3 miles. I ended up leaving the game early not because I didn’t want to stay but because I couldn’t imagine how long it would take to get out of the parking lot based on how long and how unorganized it was getting in. I’ve been to many other stadiums that understand when it’s a game day that they have to do something special to get everyone in and out of that area. And that didn’t seem to be a concern or priority. This is a response of the overall experience, Ticketmaster was great and easy to deal with. But the venue is horrible.

    Commanders vs Dallas

    by Me2 on 1/11/23FedExField - Landover

The seats were as pictured. However, I was upset that I had to purchase a $15 locker because my crossbody purse was "too large"
