Carolina Panthers Team History

The Carolina Panthers became the 29th National Football League franchise on October 26, 1993. They played their inaugural season in 1995, finishing 7-9 and setting an all-time best opening season record for an NFL expansion team. They also beat the San Francisco 49ers in their inaugural season, becoming the first expansion team to defeat a reigning Super Bowl champion in their first year of play.

Since their start, the Panthers have won six division titles, including three consecutive NFC South division titles from 2013-15 under coach Ron Rivera. The Panthers have made it to the playoffs eight times, winning two NFC Championships and appearing in the Super Bowl twice. Under coach Rivera, they made four playoff appearances in a five-year span from 2013–2017, tying Green Bay and Seattle for the most NFC playoff appearances during that time. In that five-year span, the Panthers recorded 51 wins, the most in any five-year period in franchise history, and tied for fifth-most in the NFL.

Their first Super Bowl appearance was in 2004 for Super Bowl XXXVIII, then Super Bowl 50 in 2016, following what was the Panthers’ most dominant season to date, going 15-1 with quarterback and MVP Cam Newton.

Enjoyed the stadium and the fans.

by MarcAlvarez on 1/13/24Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

Game day access to the stadium was extremely smooth. The fans are great but the team needs a lot of work.

Nice stadium to watch an L

by NS on 1/11/24Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

The workers seemed more joyous than most for such a strong loss on top of a losing season. Bartenders seemed much nicer than the Bojangles concession workers from previous weeks. Will definitely go back next season

    Nothing exciting

by Brandy S. on 12/7/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

Overpriced concessions with not enough staff. Bathrooms crowded because of unusable stalls. Getting in and out of parking garages near the stadium is atrocious

Had a nice time but saw room for improvement.

by Rochelle on 11/24/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

The seats were high and the sun was beaming down on us. Even though we were concerned about being warm enough that day, we were actually overheated. The stadium could use more shade, especially on the visitors side. The real issue happened when we tried to buy some drinks. My friend was charged $24 for a weak cocktail with the plastic Panthers cup, not the price that was listed. I bought a cup for a soda in one line and had to go stand in another line to actually get the soda. There wasn't enough room for the sprawling line and when we finally got to the front, there was no ice left. We had to chase someone down for drink lids. Another time there was nothing but seltzer coming out of the spouts. No one was around to maintenance any of it. These require simple improvements - redirect the line, hire people at each station to maintenance the drinks or simply serve the soda at the register like normal vendors. I also think more signage directing folks to the train station after the game would be helpful. Other than that and the Panthers losing (players need better coaching) we had a nice time.

by Andrea herrin on 11/24/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

    Nice environment lackluster bar

by Gwiz on 11/2/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

The environment was nice, yet the selection of alcohol was substandard. Staff mentioned that if they served premium alcohol, the price would be unreasonable. This is just sad.

    Games are way too expensive

by Ronbo on 10/4/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

Big Panthers fan family! Hate their recent choices in coaching, draft selections and the cost is way to expensive for a normal family - e.g. - I spent about $1000 Saturday on two 0-3 teams for a family of 5 and sat in section 540 row 34!! Glad there isn’t really a bad seat in BofA! Really a nice stadium with a few upgrades it would be great! Lower the costs of attending and your fan base will go up exponentially!!

    Panthers game

by Diva@60 on 9/22/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

We attended the Panthers vs Saints game and had a good time. Entertainment was good but could have been a lot better. DJ needs to play better music to keep the crowd engaged and pumped up. Fans need to be more respectful towards other ( do not let drinking beer and liquor make you rude)

    Awesome time despite loss

by Eric F on 9/21/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

Just want to say once again the facility here is amazing and there isn't a bad seat in the house, even at the very top. The music and atmosphere did seem a little on the lower side than the Sunday day games I had been to but maybe that it was a Monday and maybe music wise because ESPN was there had something to do with it IDK. Over all had the most wonderful time taking my 2 kids to there first NFL game and one final thing before I go Keep Pounding!
