Draft 2012

Pick No.64

Selected By: Indianapolis Colts

Round: 3

Pick (Overall): 1 (64)

Pick Analysis: Allen was a two-year starter at tight end for Clemson, where he won the John Mackey Award (given to the nation's top TE) before declaring early for the draft. The first-team All-ACC selection has great size for the position and even better speed. He is a polished and accomplished route runner who will be an immediate threat at the next level. As a classic, line-attached tight end, Allen can work upfield out of a three-point stance without having to align in the slot. He has a rare combination of size, speed and athleticism, and understands the intricacies of the position.
