Was a U.S. Army and Parade All-American out of Briar Woods High School (Va.). Selected first-team All-State as a defensive back and kick returner. His father, Tom, played at Notre Dame and was the 17th selection of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. Tom finished with 27 career interceptions. Younger sister, Cameron, suffered from Type I diabetes and passed away in her sleep at the age of 14.
