Draft 2010

Pick Analysis: A full-time starter for only one season in the Bulldogs' defense, Jefferson has good size and athleticism for the position but lacks technique. He runs well and shows good range in both pass coverage and run support but is inconsistent reacting quickly as plays unfold. He is better as a funnel defender in Cover 2 or press-man schemes, where he can use his length to gain an advantage on receivers. Can be inconsistent with his foot work in his pedal, which hinders his transition to close to the ball. He isn't always confident in off-man coverages, giving too much cushion which makes it tough for him to make plays on the ball. His balls skills are marginal and will need to improve to be a consistent contributor at the next level. Jefferson is a willing run-support player but needs to be more physical at the next level. He is a solid return specialist and can contribute in that way while developing his secondary skills.
