The Pregame Pressure

Eli Manning was facing a lot of pressure heading into Sunday night's contest against the Green Bay Packers. The New York Giants needed to snap a two-game losing streak, and they were facing a Packers team that had won five straight games. Manning also faced the pressure of trying to keep pace with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' explosive offense.

Tom Brady also faced plenty of pressure in his Week 12 matchup, squaring off against a desperate New York Jets squad that was anxious to knock off its AFC East rivals. Brady would also be without his top weapon in the passing game, injured tight end Rob Gronkowski. If Brady could lead the Patriots to a win, they would have a commanding three-game lead in the division.

The In-Game Performance

Manning put together an outstanding performance in the Giants' 38-10 win over the Packers, throwing for 249 yards and three touchdowns while avoiding any turnovers. He led the Giants to scores on four of their first five possessions. By halftime, the Giants had all but put the game away, taking a commanding three-touchdown lead.

Brady was incredibly efficient and productive in the Patriots' 49-19 thrashing of the Jets, throwing for 323 yards and three touchdowns and running for another score. He helped the Patriots dominate on third downs; the team converted 11 of 15 opportunities. He also got help from New England's defense and special teams unit, which accounted for 14 of the Patriots' 49 points.

The Post-Game Pick

Tom Brady was outstanding, but I believe Eli Manning's performance was more impressive. He faced a tougher opponent, and he was also the driving force behind the Giants' victory. If both Manning and Brady continue to play at this level, we could see them facing off in a Super Bowl for the third time. -- Daniel Jeremiah
