Former NFL defensive back Mike Mayock serves as an analyst and draft expert for the NFL Network.

In April 2011, Mayock was named the new analyst for NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football games joining new play-by-play voice Brad Nessler.

During NFL Network's live coverage of Thursday Night Football, Mayock provides 'Instant Playbook' from the NFL Films studios exclusively for NFL.com/LIVE: Thursday Night Football. NFL.com/LIVE: Thursday Night Football presents a live show throughout the game with "live look-ins" of the action, plus analysis from Paul Burmeister, Jamie Dukes and Bucky Brooks from NFL Network's Los Angeles studios.

As one of the most well-respected NFL draft experts among media, NFL front office personnel and team scouting departments, Mayock's expertise is featured within NFL Network's exclusive coverage of the Under Armour Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine. Following the NFL Scouting Combine, Mayock is an analyst on Path to the Draft, which provides in-depth analysis on prospective draft choices and a look at each NFL team’s needs during the off-season with host Paul Burmeister and Charles Davis.

In 2009, Mayock added analyst duties on Playbook to his resume, joining Solomon Wilcots and Brian Billick Mondays and Tuesday each week with X and O analysis on NFL games from the previous Sunday.

Mayock also spends his weekends as a game analyst on NBC's national broadcast of Notre Dame home football games with play-by-play voice Tom Hammond and sideline reporter and fellow NFL Network colleague Alex Flanagan.

In addition to his duties in-studio at NFL Network, Mayock served as a game analyst for NFL Network’s broadcasts of the Texas Bowl in 2006 and 2007 and the Under Armour Senior Bowl for the past five years. In 2009, Mayock returned to Tempe as game analyst for the Insight Bowl, which he called in 2006. 2011 also marked his fifth season as analyst for Minnesota Vikings preseason game broadcasts.

Prior to joining NFL Network, Mayock served as a college football analyst for ABC Sports (2001-03), Fox Sports Net (2000), and CBS Sports (1996-99). He also covered the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as a reporter for CBS (1997-99). From 1993-95, Mayock worked on ESPN's coverage of the Canadian Football League.

Mayock's broadcasting career also includes experience with Prime Network, NCAA Productions, Prime Sports Radio and the Big East Conference.

A 10th-round pick in the 1981 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mayock then played for the New York Giants from 1982-83. He is a member of the Boston College Hall of Fame, where he starred in football and baseball and received a Communications degree.
