Former Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green joined NFL Network as an analyst during the 2011 season.
Green can be seen alongside former Super Bowl-winning head coach Brian Billick Mondays during the season on The Coaches Show, providing a breakdown of the biggest storylines and decisions behind the final scores of Sunday's matchups from a head coach's perspective.
Prior to his experience at NFL Network, Green spent time as a radio network analyst on Westwood One for NFL Network's Thursday Night Football and served as a football analyst for ESPN.
Green brings 17 years of NFL coaching experience to the NFL Network, including 10 years as the NFL head coach of the Minnesota Vikings (1992-2001) and three years with the Arizona Cardinals (2004-2006).
In 1992, Green became only the second African American head coach in NFL history (after Art Shell) when he was selected for the position with the Minnesota Vikings, guiding the Vikings to a 15-1 record in 1998, to become only the third team in NFL history to win 15 games during the regular season.
Green's coaching career began in 1973 at the University of Dayton and he continued to hold multiple coaching positions at the collegiate level including four years as head coach at Northwestern University (1981-1985). 1982, he was named Big Ten Coach of the Year. Green also spent three years as head coach at Stanford University (1989-1991) before moving on to the professional level.
Born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Green attended the University of Iowa where he was a halfback for the Hawkeyes and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance.
