South Florida

Memorable championship moments: Iconic NFL events such as the New York Jets' Joe Namath making good on a guarantee in an upset victory over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, as well as the final game for Vince Lombardi as Green Bay Packers coach took place at Miami's Orange Bowl. In the first Super Bowl held at Sun Life Stadium, Joe Montana led a late-game rally as the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII in what turned out to be the final game for Bill Walsh as the 49ers' coach.

At old Tampa Stadium, the New York Giants edged the Buffalo Bills after Scott Norwood's attempt at a winning field goal sailed wide right in Super Bowl XXV.
