Brees equals Kilmer's Saints record with six TD passes vs. Lions

NEW ORLEANS -- Drew Brees' sixth touchdown pass against the Detroit Lions on Sunday tied for the most scoring throws ever by a Saints player in one game.

The franchise-record tying score was a 13-yard completion to fullback Heath Evans with 8:29 left in the game, giving the Saints a 45-27 lead.

Billy Kilmer threw for six touchdowns on Nov. 2, 1969, in a 51-42 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The last NFL player to throw for six scores in a game was Brett Favre last year with the New York Jetsagainst the Arizona Cardinals.
