Experienced offensive linemen McIntosh, Ghiaciuc cut by Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A poor preseason cost offensive tackle Damion McIntosh his job Friday, when the Kansas City Chiefs released him.

Experience: 9 seasons
Height: 6-4
Weight: 320
College: Kansas State

McIntosh, a third-round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers in 2000, was the Chiefs' starter at right tackle last season, but he didn't play well this preseason. He was beaten several times in Thursday night's preseason loss to the St. Louis Rams.

McIntosh signed with Kansas City as an unrestricted free agent in 2007.

The Chiefs also released center Eric Ghiaciuc, who started for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2006 to 2008 and signed with Kansas City in April.

Linebacker Corey Smith, fullback Jed Collins, cornerbacks Travis Daniels and Londen Fryar and offensive linemen Herb Taylor and Tavares Washington also were cut.
