NFL.com Wire Reports

The New Orleans Saints announced Wednesday that they have signed free-agent offensive lineman Anthony Davis, who tried out for the team at a recent minicamp.

Height: 6-4 Weight: 322
Experience: 6 seasons
College: Virginia Tech

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Davis fills the roster vacancy created by veteran linebacker Dan Morgan's retirement earlier this week.

Davis spent part of six NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2003-08) and was the team's starting left tackle in 2005 and 2006. He played in four games with the Bucs last season before being released, then was on the St. Louis Rams' roster but didn't play.

Davis gives the Saints versatility because he has played tackle and guard in the NFL. He also brings experience, having started in 32 of 47 games played.
