The Buffalo Bills announced Thursday that they have signed versatile offensive lineman Seth McKinney.
Terms of the deal with the unrestricted free agent weren't disclosed.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, McKinney is expected to compete with Kirk Chambers for a starting job at left guard. The Bills released starter Derrick Dockery this offseason.
McKinney also gives the Bills depth at center after they signed Geoff Hangartner to a four-year contract to be their starter earlier this offseason. Buffalo lost Duke Preston, who started 11 games at center last season, to the Green Bay Packers in free agency. Melvin Fowler, who started the other five games, is an unrestricted free agent whom the team doesn't play to re-sign.
McKinney appeared in 16 games with three starts for the Cleveland Browns last season. He also spent the 2007 season with the Browns, whom he joined after spending five seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
McKinney has played in 85 games in his seven-year NFL career. He entered the league as a third-round draft pick (90th overall) by the Dolphins in 2002.
