Don't look now, but New England rebounds in the rankings

This is how the NFL's 32 teams stack up after Week 7:

In the hunt
Teams that look good enough to be among the 12 playoff qualifiers, but not based on conference.
Rank Team Record Prv. Comment
1. Tennessee Titans 6-0 1 In every way, the Titans are playing like the best team in the league.
2. New York Giants 5-1 2 Nice comeback from that Monday Night Football debacle, but they have to play much better if they're going to win at Pittsburgh.
3. Washington Redskins 5-2 3 After snuffing whatever surge the Browns might have contemplated, the Redskins should make it two in a row at Detroit.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers 5-1 4 Sheer grit and good depth have done wonders for this team.
5. Arizona Cardinals 4-2 5 Coming east usually doesn't work out well for the Cards, but maybe the week's rest before their trip to Carolina will make a difference.
6. Buffalo Bills 5-1 11 Beating the Chargers made a strong statement that the Bills are among the AFC's elite. Now they have a chance to do some damage in their division.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-2 8 The Bucs should be able to add to the Cowboys' misery.
8. Carolina Panthers 5-2 9 The Panthers will need to put the same kind of heat on Kurt Warner that they applied to Drew Brees.
9. Atlanta Falcons 4-2 10 Impressive stuff so far from the rookie quarterback and rookie coach, but there's a huge challenge ahead in Philadelphia.
10. Green Bay Packers 4-3 -- The Packers get a chance to relax and savor that dominant victory over the Colts.
11. Chicago Bears 4-3 -- The Bears get a chance to relax and savor that that wild shootout over the Vikings.
12. New England Patriots 4-2 -- Maybe we shouldn't write off these guys just yet.
