The New York Giants have agreed to terms with Shane Olivea after the NFL rescinded the tackle's four-game suspension, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting.

Olivea must first work out and pass a physical with the Giants before a contract can be signed.

The Giants, thin behind starting tackles David Diehl and Kareem McKenzie, are seeking depth at the position, and Olivea brings experience. The Long Island native started 57 of 60 games for the San Diego Chargers but lost his starting job to Jeromy Clary midway through last season.

Olivea, a seventh-round draft pick of the Chargers in 2004, was suspended in June for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy. According to multiple media reports, the suspension was for a missed drug test. Olivea appealed the suspension, telling league officials he was in a drug-treatment center at the time of the testing.
