Cardinals cut Desmond Harrison after arrest warrant

The Arizona Cardinals released offensive tackle Desmond Harrison on Wednesday morning, the team announced, after it was reported the Greensboro (N.C.) Police Department had issued a felony arrest warrant for him.

Harrison is being charged with domestic violence assault, per the Greensboro PD incident/investigation report.

The warrant is for "assault by strangulation/assault on a woman" stemming from an incident on Tuesday at a Greensboro residence.

Harrison started eight games in 2018 during his rookie season with the Cleveland Browns. He was subsequently waived in June by the Browns and claimed by the Cardinals later in the month.

In a corresponding move, the Cardinals announced the signing of safety Jalen Thompson to a four-year contract. Thompson was taken with a fifth-round pick in last week's NFL Supplemental Draft and was the only player selected.
