Former defensive end Arthur Moats, 31, announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, via Twitter.

Moats played nine seasons, four with the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers and one with the Arizona Cardinals.

He had 16.5 sacks and 202 combined tackles with the Bills and Steelers in eight years, but didn't play a snap with the Cardinals in 2018 after suffering a sprained MCL and being released in October.

The most memorable moment of Moats' career came in 2010 -- his rookie year -- when he delivered the hit on Brett Favre that ended his consecutive start streak at 297 games.
