Injuries: Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey nursing ankle injury

Half of Jacksonville's star cornerback duo has been sidelined.

Jalen Ramsey is not expected to practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury, the Jaguars announced. It's not yet clear when or how the injury occurred. Ramsey was limited last Wednesday with a hip ailment.

The Jaguars cornerback had three passes defensed against the Texans in Week 1, alongside his new partner in press coverage A.J. Bouye.

Blake Bortles was also listed on Jacksonville's injury report with a right wrist injury.

The Jaguars return to Jacksonville to take on the divisional rival Tennessee Titans and their revamped receiving corps on Sunday.

Here are the other injuries we're monitoring on Wednesday:

  1. New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola, who suffered a head injury against the Kansas City Chiefs, and linebacker Dont'a Hightower (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
  1. Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiverJohn Ross (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Houston Texans.
  1. The Texans have ruled seven players out for Thursday's clash with Cincinnati, including linebacker Brian Cushing (concussion), wide receiver Bruce Ellington (concussion), tight end Ryan Griffin (concussion), guard Jeff Allen (ankle) and tight end Stephen Anderson (concussion).
  1. The New York Giants are optimistic Odell Beckham (ankle) will be able to play Monday against the Detroit Lions, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network's Up to the Minute Live.
  1. Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford -- fresh off a career night against the Saints -- was limited at practice with what was labeled a knee injury. Linebacker Anthony Barr (hamstring) did not practice.
  1. Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Vernon Butler (knee) returned to practice as a full participant after not playing in the team's season opener against the San Francisco 49ers.
  1. John Harbaugh confirmed that Baltimore Ravens running back Danny Woodhead (hamstring) will miss at least four weeks.

Joe Flacco told reporters that he came out of Week 1 feeling good after missing the entire preseason with a back injury. CornerbackJaylen Hill (thigh), cornerback Sheldon Price and linebacker Za'Darius Smith (knee, ankle) didn't practice.

"I have no limitations when it comes down to throwing the football and running around," Flacco said, per The Baltimore Sun. "I'm not going to say I'm 100 percent but there's no limitations come Sunday."

  1. Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters (groin) practiced fully. Peters suffered the injury during Philadelphia's Week 1 win over the Redskins.

Speaking to reporters, cornerback Ronald Darby (dislocated ankle) confirmed he suffered no ligament damage and will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.

  1. Buffalo Bills cornerback E.J. Gaines (shoulder), tight end Charles Clay (shoulder) and tackle Cordy Glenn (foot) were limited in practice. Defensive tackle Jerel Worthy (concussion protocol) didn't practice.
  1. New Orleans Saints long snapper Jon Dorenbos' heart surgery went well on Tuesday, Eagles coach Doug Pederson said. Dorenbos was diagnosed with an aortic aneuysm after taking a physical following his trade from Philly to New Orleans.

"Everything went well yesterday with surgery and he's resting comfortably," Pederson said. "Just wish him and his family well, our prayers are with him and hope for a speedy recovery."

  1. Chicago Bears coach John Fox said linebacker Jerrell Freeman's torn pectoral will require surgery.
  1. Andrew Luck didn't participate in practice with his Indianapolis Colts teammates Wednesday, coach Chuck Pagano said.
  1. Cleveland Browns rookie pass rusher Myles Garrett did not practice as he continues to rehab a high ankle sprain.

Browns offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler was held out of Wednesday's practice after he underwent a procedure on his thumb, the team announced. The hope is he'll return to action Thursday or Friday. Defensive tackle Danny Shelton (knee) was limited.

  1. Arizona Cardinals linebacker Deone Bucannon (ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis on Wednesday after not participating all last week. Defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche (calf) also was limited.
  1. Washington Redskins wide receiverJosh Doctson (hamstring) and D.J. Swearinger (back) were limited at Redskins practice. Doctson's issue was "tightness" and his limited involvement was a precautionary move, Gruden said.
  1. Thomas Rawls didn't practice, but Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said the running back is on track to play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
  1. Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick (hand), wideout Terrance Williams (ankle) and linebacker Anthony Hitchens (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
  1. Denver Broncos guard Ron Leary (concussion), quarterbackPaxton Lynch (shoulder) and safety Darian Stewart (groin) did not participate in practice. Running back Devontae Booker (wrist) and defensive end Jared Crick (back) were both limited.
