When the Seattle Seahawks open camp on Sunday, Earl Thomas plans to be full go.
"I don't think I'll have any limitations," the All-Pro free safety said Tuesday at his second annual football camp, per The Seattle Times.
We haven't seen Thomas in a game since he broke his tibia in a Week 13 win over the Panthers, a devastating injury that forced the star defender to ponder retirement.
After coach Pete Carroll praised the safety's recovery and progress during OTAs, Thomas on Tuesday talked about entering camp with a "different appreciation" for this campaign, saying: "I've been battling this whole offseason just to give myself a chance to be productive this season and I think I did that."
Said Thomas: "I'm feeling really, really good. I'm feeling solid. That's all I can ask for going into this part of the season. I'm excited and ready to get back out there with the guys and try to take this thing, take it all the way."
During Seattle's incredible run on defense under Carroll, the Seahawks have drafted and groomed a litany of homegrown talent. Cornerback Richard Sherman, linebacker Bobby Wagner and safety Kam Chancellor are core to the cause, but Thomas has served as the unit's most important player.
A return to full health -- after winter whispers of retirement -- is nothing less than a coup for last year's NFC West champs.
